APAP Members among President Biden’s nominees to National Council on the Arts

On June 23 President Joe Biden announced nominations to the National Council on the Arts, and we are excited that several of them are a part of the APAP community!

The National Council on the Arts advises the Chair of the National Endowment for the Arts, who also chairs the Council on agency policies and programs. It reviews and makes recommendations to the Chair on applications for grants, funding guidelines, and leadership initiatives.

Congratulations to all of the nominees, including:

  • Kamilah Forbes, executive producer, The Apollo Theater
  • Christopher K Morgan, executive artistic director, Dance Place
  • Ismael Ahmed, most recently served as the associate provost for Metropolitan Impact at the University of Michigan-Dearborn
  • Kinan Azmeh, soloist, composer and improviser
