3.27.12 APAP Leadership Development Institute Announces 2012 Class of Participants. Prestigious program welcomes new class of 14 national arts professionals.
The Association of Performing Arts Presenters, in partnership with the Research Center for Leadership in Action at the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at New York University, announces the highest number ever of new participants to the prestigious Leadership Development Institute. The 2012 class of 14 participants was chosen from a national pool of competitive applicants. LDI meets throughout the year for a comprehensive exploration of the topic Know and Connect with Community. The 2012 class will present its findings at APAP|NYC 2013, January 11-15, 2013, and through a white paper.

1.20.12 Alicia Adams Honored with APAP Fan Taylor Award for Exemplary Service to the Presenting Field. Vice President of International Programming and Dance at The Kennedy Center and other arts leaders receive awards at APAP|NYC 2012.
The annual APAP awards ceremony and luncheon on Monday, January 9, 2012, honored Alicia Adams as recipient of the Fan Taylor Distinguished Service Award for Exemplary Service to the Field of Professional Presenting. Adams is the vice president of international programming and dance at the The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The Fan Taylor award is presented as a surprise award to an individual whose outstanding service, creative thinking and leadership have had a significant impact on the profession of presenting or on the Association of Performing Arts Presenters.

12.19.11 APAP|NYC 2012 hosts JazzConnect: Building Jazz Culture – Local to Global The Association of Performing Arts Presenters features jazz – its leaders, masters and music – at annual performing arts industry conference in New York City.
APAP will host a series of special sessions devoted to jazz and jazz musicians at the organization’s conference APAP|NYC Jan. 6-10, 2012, in New York City. The conference is the largest annual gathering of performing arts industry professionals, and the jazz track offers both free and registration-required events.

12.16.11 Arts Presenters Announces Cultural Exchange Fund Grantees. Presenting professionals and artists awarded grants for cultural projects.
The Association of Performing Arts Presenters announces a new round of recipients of Cultural Exchange Fund grants. Awarded to presenting professionals and artists, the grants, which are funded by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, allow awardees to deepen their knowledge of arts, traditions and cultures throughout the world, and exemplify diversity in the performing arts profession by building partnerships and collaborations with international counterparts.

11.18.11 Arts Presenters Announces APAP|NYC 2012 Speakers Lineup. Carol Coletta, John Kani, Diane Paulus, Ben Cameron, Liz Lerman and others to speak at plenary and professional development sessions.
The Association of Performing Arts Presenters is pleased to announce the speakers lineup for APAP|NYC 2012, the association’s annual conference and largest convening of arts industry leaders. This year’s conference theme of Owning the Road Ahead asks both speakers and conference attendees to reflect on new ways of facilitating community engagement. APAP|NYC takes place Jan. 6-10, 2012 in New York City and draws more than 3,400 participants.

11.8.11 Arts Presenters Announces 2012 Award Winners. White Bird Dance, Ben Cameron and George Wein honored as leaders in the performing arts field.
The Association of Performing Arts Presenters announces the 2012 Annual APAP Awards recipients, whose service to the performing arts has had a significant impact on the industry and on communities worldwide. The winners will be honored at a luncheon, noon, Sunday, Jan. 9, 2012 at the Hilton New York in New York City. The event is part of APAP|NYC, the association’s annual conference and the world’s largest gathering of performing arts professionals.

11.1.11 Arts Presenters Announces Participants of the 2012 Young Performers Career Advancement Program. Young professional performers to be showcased at Carnegie Hall at APAP|NYC 2012.
The Association of Performing Arts Presenters announces the four soloists and one ensemble selected for the 2012 Young Performers Career Advancement program. Sebastian Bäverstam (cello), Michael Brown (piano), Benjamin Hochman (piano), Rachel Lee (violin), and the Catalyst Quartet have been chosen from a highly competitive field of classical music applicants to participate in the APAP 2012 YPCA program.

8.24.11 Arts Presenters Announces New President and CEO.Mario Garcia Durham, of the NEA, fills executive position at APAP.
The Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP) announced today the appointment of Mario Garcia Durham as President and CEO. He is the fifth executive director since the organization’s founding in 1957, and follows Sandra Gibson, who stepped down June 30, 2011.
