Emerging Leadership Institute

The Emerging Leadership Institute (ELI) is an intensive two-day seminar provides participants with many of the critical leadership skills they need now and in the future. A group of up to twenty-five emerging leaders are invited each fall to participate in the Emerging Leadership Institute in January. The workshop is a collaborative process, where learning from each other is highly valued. The workshop is also a valuable and rare opportunity for each participant to reflect on and develop their ideas about leadership and on their own career.

ELI  is an opportunity to engage in new professional relationships, work in an environment in which confidentiality is a guiding principle -- facilitated by professional practitioners in the field -- become part of an expanding network of ELI alumni (now more than 200 alumni), and have an enhanced presence at the APAP Conference NYC.  ELI is a smart career move for any performing arts professional including presenters, managers, artists, agents, artistic company managing directors, marketing directors, arts council personnel, and other related positions in the performing arts.

NEWS!!

APAP is pleased to announce that the Emerging Leadership Institute (ELI) will be offered January 6-11, 2011 as an intensive professional development opportunity for individuals in the first three to seven years of their career in the presenting and touring field.

The 2011 edition of ELI will begin as a pre-conference event Thursday, January 6 and include specially-focused sessions and speakers throughout APAP|NYC 2011.

The ELI guidelines and application are now available online. The deadline is September 30, 2010. We invite all members to encourage emerging colleagues to take advantage of this innovative and collaborative opportunity to gain critical leadership skills they can use now and in the future.
