Emerging Markets Program

Funded by the National Endowment for the Arts

The Emerging Markets Program, in partnership with Creative Capital, offered arts presenting organizations the opportunity to develop and document best practices that successfully engaged audiences with emerging 21st century artists. Presenters worked in partnership with their selected Creative Capital artist to determine the effectiveness of strategies for reaching new or expanded audiences across the presenter’s community.

Emerging Markets Grantees

Five successful risk-taking presenters were matched with five adventurous artists in August 2014, and performances at each of the presenter’s sites took place during the spring or fall of 2015. Each grantee presented at the APAP|NYC annual conference in January 2015 and January 2016 and also at the Creative Capital Artists Retreat in July 2015. Hear directly from the artists and presenters who discussed their plans to engage new audiences through this exciting opportunity by listening to an
