Cultural Exchange Fund

Funded by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation

"It is impossible to quantify the true and lasting value of this type of intensive immersion in live performances.
It really allowed me to experience a variety of theatrical performances by companies from all parts of the world.”
Jeffrey Martin, Brigham Young University, CEF Awardee 2014

About the Program

APAP recognizes the importance of global exchange to fully engage audiences and communities in the breadth and diversity of international performing arts experiences. Supported by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the Cultural Exchange Fund (CEF) is a travel subsidy program which provides opportunities for U.S. based APAP members to expand and deepen their knowledge of traditions and cultures abroad, build partnerships and develop collaborations with foreign artists and arts organizations, and experience artistic work from around the world in its cultural context.

Not sure where to travel? New to presenting international artists? See a full list of past CEF Awardees supporting 154 unique travelers since 2008. Also, learn more about how they used their funds, and explore additonal resources supporting International Cultural Exchange.
