USCIS Issues Final Rule on Proposed Fee Increases

Last July, APAP submitted comments to USCIS in collaboration with the Performing Arts Alliance asking for improvements in the adjudication of foreign guest artist visa petitions and processing timeframes for the relevant visa categories. We opposed the fee increase in the Premium Processing Fee without improved services and are disappointed to report that the agency has failed to acknowledge the significant burden this fee increase will impose on the performing arts community.  The fee increases are as follows: I-129 increases from $320 to $325, I-539 decreases from $300 to $290, I-824 increases from $340 to $405, I-907 PPS increases from $1000 to $1225. This rule is effective November 23, 2010 and applications mailed, postmarked, or otherwise filed on or after November 23, 2010 MUST include the new fee. The final rule can be read here.
