Know the Tax Rules for Engaging Foreign Artists!

Did you know that the U.S. tax requirements for foreign guest artists are vastly different than the laws for U.S. residents? Find essential information about Internal Revenue Service (IRS) withholding rules on the recently updated Artists from Abroad website, co-hosted by APAP and the League of American Orchestras.

Visa Assistance

APAP keeps members informed on the latest policy changes and offers members technical assistance on the process for submitting visa petitions and responding to RFEs. 

We also offer visa consultation letters for members applying for O and P visa categories. Currently, the fee for visa consultation letters are $100 payable by check or credit card. This service is available to active APAP members only. If you are not a currently APAP member or would like to renew your membership please contact our membership department at 202-833-2787 or visit our membership page.

If you are an active APAP member and would like to request a visa consultation letter, please send an email to with "Visa Consultation Letter" in the subject line. Please include your name, contact information, the name of the APAP member organization, and type of visa letter you are requesting. You will receive a response shortly.
