The Arts Presenters government affairs department advocates for policies and legislation that acts to support, strengthen and improve the performing arts industry. On behalf of our member organizations, Arts Presenters seeks to raise awareness on those issues our members identify as a priority. We are active in every federal policy area that affects our membership which includes a need for increase in NEA funding to promote creativity and public access to the arts; improving access to arts education for all students through increased learning opportunities and requiring schools to produce comprehensive reports regarding the status of all arts education disciplines in America’s public schools; improving the process for obtaining a visa by foreign guest artists; strengthening ties between the United States and the world through expanded cultural exchange opportunities; supporting tax policies that continue to contribute to the financial sustainability of America’s nonprofit arts organizations and protecting wireless audio users operating in the broadcast spectrum from interference by pursuing licensing.
With relationships across the Administration, Congress and federal agencies, Arts Presenters provides information to policy makers about the public value of our field and the important service every member organization contributes in the communities in which they operate. Arts Presenters is a resource destination for the field as well as policy makers looking to effectively advocate for the performing arts industry’s policy needs.
Information in this section of the website includes a brief summary of the issues on our policy agenda, the latest legislative news, announcements of federal funding opportunities and advocacy opportunities.
